Rowan Digital Infrastructure Secures $1.2 Billion to Accelerate Hyperscale Expansion and Sustainability Initiatives

DENVER – [Sep. 11, 2025] – Rowan Digital Infrastructure (“Rowan”), a leading developer of sustainable hyperscale data centers, today announced three significant capital milestones that underscore the company’s strong financial momentum and leadership in sustainable infrastructure.

  • Rowan has secured $925 million in new financing for the third phase of its flagship Bauxite hyperscale campus in Maryland, bringing total debt raised for Bauxite to more than $3.1 billion.

  • The financing was the first issued under Rowan’s newly established Green Finance Framework, which received a “Strong” rating from Sustainalytics, affirming the company’s sustainability-first approach.

  • Rowan also closed a $300 million corporate credit facility for investment in early-stage development projects, consisting of a term loan and letter of credit facility. The facility was led by Apterra and oversubscribed by institutional investors, evidencing broad market support for Rowan’s growth pipeline and capital strategy.

“These major milestones reflect the market’s confidence in Rowan’s ability to deliver both financial and sustainability performance at the scale our hyperscale customers need right now,” said Charley Daitch, CEO of Rowan. “These accomplishments reflect the continued conviction from Rowan’s customers that our unique approach to hyperscale data center development is shaping the future of this industry.”

“Our ability to close multiple financings in consecutive weeks from leading institutions speaks to Rowan’s differentiated financial strategy and the growing demand for our sustainable digital infrastructure,” said Kevin Mammel, CFO of Rowan. “The close of our ‘first of its kind’ corporate credit facility demonstrates the strength of our balance sheet and provides a solid foundation for Rowan’s continued expansion in the months and years ahead.”

Rowan’s Bauxite campus will contribute more than 600 MW of hyperscale capacity to the company’s growing portfolio of nearly 2 GW in active construction and advanced development across the United States. By combining cutting-edge infrastructure delivery with strong community and regulatory engagement, Rowan continues to position itself as a trusted partner to the world’s largest technology companies.

“We are proud to partner with Rowan to support the next phase of its growth and sustainability strategy,” said Ralph Cho and Michael Pantelogianis, Co-CEOs of Apterra. “These financings highlight Apterra’s ability to deliver tailored, scalable solutions that meet the capital needs of leading infrastructure developers, while advancing the energy transition and digital economy. Rowan’s momentum demonstrates the type of impact our platform seeks to enable across critical infrastructure sectors.”

The latest Bauxite financing was led by SMBC, MUFG, Mizuho, and Societe Generale. Rowan was represented by Milbank LLP and the lender group by Davis Polk and Wardwell LLP. Apterra provided the corporate credit facility and acted as sole bookrunner as well as joint lead arranger alongside Investec, Standard Chartered, and Celtic Bank. For the corporate credit facility, Rowan was represented by Kirkland & Ellis LLP and Apterra was represented by Milbank LLP.
