Rowan Powers Texas Growth as Construction Begins on 300 MW Temple Data Center

Project Represents a Minimum $700 Million Investment in Central Texas

Temple, Tex. (Jan. 5, 2025) – Rowan Digital Infrastructure, a leading developer of mission-critical hyperscale data centers, today announced that construction is underway at its 300-megawatt (MW) Project Temple site. The campus signals a major step forward in Rowan’s rapid expansion, underscoring its role as a premier developer of next-generation cloud and AI infrastructure across the United States.

Spanning roughly 700 acres, the Temple campus is Rowan’s largest Texas project to date and will serve a top global technology company as a long-term customer. Operations are expected in 2027, with power secured through a partnership with Oncor, further establishing Temple as a central hub for digital innovation in one of the nation’s fastest-growing regions.

Project Temple is expected to generate approximately 600 construction jobs and more than 40 permanent positions once operational. The project received unanimous approval from the Temple City Council and Bell County Commissioners Court following extensive engagement with local leaders.

Temple represents a key milestone in Rowan’s nationwide expansion. The company now has nearly 2 gigawatts in active development and several additional gigawatts in its pipeline, reflecting its momentum in delivering large-scale, sustainable hyperscale infrastructure for the world’s leading technology companies.
